The Soul At The Moment Of Death

Chapter 21- Glimpses of Eternity--My Mother's Last Gift Upon Her Passing
Dr. Joan Borysenko--Psychologist, medical researcher and author of many bestselling books, including A Women's Book of Life.

I looked across at my child, at Justin, and Justin was weeping. His face was suffused with light and he looked up at me and he said, "Mom, the room is filled with light. Can you see it?" I said, "Yes, I see the light." And he said, "It's Grandma. She's holding open the door of eternity for us so that we can have a glimpse. It's her last gift."

--Dr. Joan Borysenko

Chapter 22- What Counts at the Moment of Death
Christine Longaker--Spiritual care educator, student of the venerable Sogyal Rinpoche and author of Facing Death and Finding Hope.

Not knowing who we are, not knowing our real essence and our interconnectedness with all life, we have all made mistakes. In this not knowingness, if we have harmed someone or regret some things we've done, we can ask forgiveness, either from that person or from our God.

--Christine Longaker

Chapter 23-
Anya Foos Graber--Writer, lecturer and author of Deathing: An Intelligent Alternative for the Final Moments of Life.

If we can maintain a state of divine awareness at the moment of death, and focus on a Divine Being who is "One with the Father," one can "hitchhike"--through the principles of vibrational resonance and entrainment--with the state of consciousness behind the name that is invoked by this remembrance.

--Anya Foos-Graber

"Theologue" by Alex Grey. During deep meditation, I entered a state where all energy systems in my body were completely aligned and flowing; it was in this state that I envisioned Theologue, the union of human and divine consciousness weaving in the fabric of space and time in which the Self and Its surroundings are embedded. I was wearing a Mindfold (a lightweight, inexpensively produced, sight and sound deprivation unit that combines a blindfold with earplugs) which allowed me to stare into total darkness. I peered into an infinite regress of electric perspective grids that radiated from my brain/mind and led to the horizon. A mystic fire engulfed me. Across the horizon all I could see were perspective lines going into deep space. I was seeing both the perceptual grid of my mind on which space and time are woven, and the Universal Mind which was both the source and weaving loom. At this moment, faintly, a mountain range appeared. Transparent, but present, they formed a vast and beautiful panorama and then disappeared back into the grid.

Chapter 24- The Tunnel of Love--A
Louise L. Hay--Internationally acclaimed lecturer, minister and author of many bestselling books, including You Can Heal Your Life.

One of the things we want to do is to make peace with ourselves, no matter where we are and what is going on, and to know that death is not a failure. It is one of the experiences that we have in life. And as I have said many times, when we go, it is our time. And I do think we make an agreement with our souls as to when we will leave.

--Louise L. Hay
